    Research Interests
I am interested in learning the nature of terrestrial Carbon cycling in deep time, mainly through biogeochemical analysis of paleosols, to potentially examine ecosystem responses to regional changes in landscapes and/or climate through time. Previously I have worked throughout the Indian Himalaya determining soil organic Carbon inventory and dynamics across gradients of topography and climate. In such studies I have utilized stable isotopes, mathematical models, and various radiometric dating techniques to estimate changes in vegetation and long-term C accumulation/turnover times for soil chronosequences. As a new PhD student at Baylor, I am excited to discover what types of chemical information can be recovered from preserved soils to aid in paleoclimate reconstruction.
